This lesson plan is designed for first grade students and the curriculum area addressed is science. Using interactive software, digital videos, and other computer technology and actvities, my first graders will be able to recall facts about dolphins such as their habitat, life cycle, diet, and anatomy.

This objective is asking students to recall past information, learn and understand general facts about dolphins, and put forth their new knowledge to make a booklet. Thus using the knowledge, application, and comprehension levels of Bloom's taxonomy.

The following Sunshine State Standards will be addressed: (SC.F.2.1) The student understands the process and importance of genetic diversity, (SC.H.2.1) The student understands that most natural events occur in comprehensible, consistent patterns, and (SC.K.N.1.4) The student observe and create a visual representation of an object which includes its major features.

The materials needed: computers with interactive software to play games, crayons, paper, dolphin books, dolphin figurines, printer, and video players on computer.

By the end of the week, the students will be able to recall and demonstrate new information about dolphins. My students will be able to describe dolphins' diet, habitat, life cycle, anatomy, and general facts. They will go home with heads full of knowledge and crafts detailing the work they had done in class (the diorama, word search, labeled anatomy, and dolphin colorings).
